Sequences

Lately I've been aware of sequences in my photography. It seems pretty obvious, especially considering how many photographs I take. I was not conscious of how sequential I was until I began to edit my photos over the last month. The following sequence is a simple interaction I witnessed between my two youngest children. They were playing outside of One World Cafe and I took advantage of this sweet set of moments.

. . . And Snow

A few weeks ago I spent the weekend up at Solitude after the resort had closed for the winter. It was truly solitude, especially the skiing - not a soul in sight. These photos were taken before I realized my knee was not happy, so I was completely in the joy of the moment. The icicle photo was taken from the deck of the condo where I stayed. I am especially grateful to a good friend who let me stay with her and enjoy such a relaxing weekend.

What I Love About Rain

"I love the rain
Love the way it falls on everything
Its way of turning brown to green
And gray to blue
That's what I love about rain . . ."

-Art Garfunkel

I truly love the rain more than almost anything on earth - the smell, its cleansing effect, how it brings out more color in everything it touches. I used to even like it more than the sunshine, but now I like both. It's especially cool when both come together. I remember this happening often when I lived on the island of Mauritius back in 1997. No wonder I was so happy there.

These photos capture parts of the rainy hour we enjoyed the other day . . .
